‘Art in the Heart’

Greetings from beautiful Western Australia from the girl from the bush. My roots are in Buntine, a WA wheatbelt town, where I spent my younger years riding horses and immersed in the world of art under the guidance of my talented mother, who not only was a talented artist but also an art teacher. She included me in all her own painting adventures in our harsh but beautiful wheatbelt. My mum often tells the story of me drinking the turps, accidentally left out, from her oil painting at the age of 2. All was well after a quick trip to Dalwallinu Hospital. She says I have turps in my veins. Despite my early passion for painting throughout my schooling, life took me on a different path, and for the last three decades, I’ve been dedicated to my Nursing career.

In the past 3 years, I’ve rekindled my love of art, finding immense joy in returning to my creative roots. Currently residing in Jandakot, WA, with my much-loved family and wish to bring joy to others with art. Australia holds a special place in my heart, inspiring most of my artwork. My upbringing in the Western Australian wheatbelt and the pastures of Mardella, south of Perth, influence my paintings. You will be greeted by salt lakes, beautiful gum trees, and the colours of the Kimberly. My mum continues to have a positive influence on my love of art. I hope others will also find joy in my creations.
